LUMUT, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Members of all Barisan Nasional parties in Perak are ready to help in Tenang by-election in Johor, state BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said Saturday.
Zambry, who is Perak Mentri Besar, said: "We will send as many member as needed to campaign for the coalition candidate and ensure that BN retains the seat."
"We will work with the party machinery to identify and solve the problems of the residents," he told reporters here, noting that it was normal for BN members to cross state borders to help in by-elections.
Zambry said he was confident that BN would retain the seat based on its track record and the good work done by the late Datuk Sulaiman Taha, and the increased faith of the people in the government.
The by-election, following the death of Sulaiman at age 59 at the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital in Ampang at 1.10am yesterday, must be held within 60 days.
