MELAKA, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- The Melaka government has to date, received donations amounting to RM182,415 for the flood victims in Kedah, Perlis and Kelantan, as well as the Mt Merapi volcanic eruption victims in Indonesia.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said of the amount, RM121,415 was in the form of cash and the balance, in kind.
"We already sent RM16,000 (cash) to Kedah, RM10,000 to Perlis and RM10,000 to Kelantan three days ago," he told reporters after receiving donations at Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh, here, today.
Mohd Ali said the amount given to each of the states was determined by the number of flood victims and their requirements.
He said among the donors today were Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (36,000 bottles of drinking water worth RM17,5000, Menara Taming Sari Sdn Bhd (RM10,000) and Melaka branch of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (RM5,000).

The Melaka government had targeted to collect more than RM200,000 in donations, with about RM150,000 expected to come from its agencies and state government-owned companies and the balance from private companies and individuals.
"We plan to give RM50,000 to the flood victims and another RM50,000 to the volcanic eruption victims in Indonesia," he said.
Mohd Ali said he would personally hand over the donation for the volcanic disaster victims to the respective leaders while attending the Malay Islamic World Convention in Batam, Indonesia on Wednesday.
