Party vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat openly giving cash contributions to Orang Asli youths at a meet-the-people session in Pos Sandrop, Gua Musang tuesday was in conflict with its previous stand.
"Let the recipients lodge the reports (with the MACC) themselves. We don't want to interfere and we believe the MACC has enough facts and evidence," he said after a ceremony to pin the rank of First Admiral (Honorary) on Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir, here Wednesday.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Defence Minister, said PAS' desperation had become increasingly obvious as Nik Aziz himself had been using his own image as Menteri Besar in the by-election campaign after finding that Barisan Nasional's influence in the area was getting stronger.
"Many people in Kelantan are now aware (of PAS' lies and hypocrisy). PAS will use whatever it takes to win the hearts of the Chinese and Orang Asli voters after realising that BN is getting stronger," he said.
On PAS' latest edict that prohibits recipients of aid from the Kelantan government to support BN in the next general election, Zahid said it was just a desperate move by PAS.
"They used to tell people to accept the cloth, sugar and other items given by BN but they must vote for PAS. But when the state government gives aid, still the people are not to vote for BN. This smacks of hypocrisy," he said.
