This had created the news as the Perak Water Board (PWB) created a first when it became the first state body to set up a day care centre for its employees' children.
"We initially intended to set up the centre at the old quarters or shop lots but failed to get a suitable location, so we decided to re-novate one of our offices into the centre," he said.
Speaking at the launching ceremony on Friday, Mohd Yusof said the idea for the centre came from board chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, who is also Perak Mentri Besar.
He said renovation work for the centre began in June and was completed three months later. It then started taking in children in October.
"There are presently nine children, aged three months to four years, enrolled at the centre which can accommodate up to 40 children.
"The centre, which is being man-ned by three minders, only charges RM30 per child a month. I am sure that the workers' productivity will also increase with their children near them," he added.
On a separate occassion...it was reported on 16 Dec 2010, the pre-school teachers were letting their hairs down to celebrate..
IT was a joyous occasion for 250 private pre-school teachers who attended a dinner at the Royal Perak Golf Club in Ipoh.

Belting out with gusto: Kindergarten teachers singing during the Pre-School Teachers Programme's dinner in Ipoh.
They let their hair down, singing several songs at the function which was attended by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and TAJ International College chief executive officer Tina Tajuddin on Monday.

The teachers will complete a three-week training programme run by the college tomorrow.
This is part of the effort to establish the preschool curricullum for the nation, though it first glance seem to be uncoordinated efforts.
We wonder where the permata will lead to..?
