Defence Ministry To Upgrade Camps

The Ministry of Defence will upgrade its camps, which are badly in need of repair, as part of its transformation process.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the plan would not involve an additional allocation from the government, instead it would capitalise on existing allocations.

He was speaking to reporters after attending the ministry's monthly assembly here on Wednesday.

Army chief Datuk Seri Mohd Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Tan Sri Rodzali Daud and Royal Malaysian Navy chief Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar were present.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid said the Ministry of Defence had successfully achieved 100 per cent its Key Performance Indicators (KPI)'s targets, according to a report from the evaluation committee.

"We met the KPI targets before the deadline on Dec 31 last year," he added.
