KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- A 30-year-old entrepreneur was named the winner of a karaoke contest held in conjunction with this year''s National Craft Day celebration held between Feb 23 and March 7.
Rosiah Baharuddin took home RM1,000 with the song, "Melara Jiwa", at the contest which was jointly organised by the National Craft Complex and the Information Communication and Culture Ministry.
Second place was won by student Sharifah Nurilmuhayati Syed Hussain, 13, with the song "Anggapanmu" , while Mohd Azrizal Aziz, 27, also an entrepreneur, who sang "Sampai Syurga", won third place.
Sharifah Nurilmuhayati took home RM800, while Mohd Azrizal won RM500.
A total of 15 contestants took part in the contest.
The winners received their prizes from Information Communication and Culture Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Kamaruddin Siaraf.
Also present at the function were Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation deputy director-general (operations) Ramli Mohd Noor and its deputy director-general of development, Shahrudin Mohd Noor.
