Isu Sex Anwar: Yusry KRU diheret?

Yusry dan Maya
Popular film director and producer Yusry Abdul Halim may be roped in to ascertain the authenticity of the sex video that showed a man resembling Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim having sex with a foreign prostitute.

Royal Malaysian Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Ghazali Md Amin said police might call Yusry to help analyse the video.

“As far as we are concerned, we can call anyone to help in the investigation and that in-cludes Yusry,” said DCP Ghazali yesterday. However, he said, police were still studying the evidence and had yet to decide if they would call the film maker or other experts on the matter.

Yusry, who directed the recent box office hit Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, was reported to have said that it would be difficult to doctor a 20-minute long video.

“Still pictures or short videos can be forged but if it is 20 minutes long, it's almost impossible,” he said.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said the party believed in the integrity and professionalism of the police in investigating the sex video.

Mustafa said the party would wait for the outcome of the investigation as they did not want to jump the gun without conclusive evidence. “We will wait for the findings,” he said yesterday.

Mustafa also said it was not necessary to engage foreign experts to ascertain the authenticity of the video and identity of the man in it, as suggested by PAS central committee member Mohamad Sabu.

The “Datuk T” trio, comprising businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuaib Lazim and former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik had exposed the existence of the video last Monday.

The next day Anwar lodged a police report saying he was not the man in the sex video.
