Piano show in Taiping

Everlasting Peace is the meaning behind Taiping name, and a non-governmental organisation promoting peace is organising a concert by Polish pianist Janusz Florczyk, in this town Saturday.

Poland's new ambassador to Malaysia, Prof Dr Adam Jelonek helped make the upcoming event possible with the support that he gave to Partners for Peace Malaysia (PfPM) in getting Florczyk take time from a world tour, to perform in Taiping.

The organisation's deputy president Stephen Nah said the concert will be the second time a pianist from Poland performs in Taiping.

According to Nah, previous Polish ambassador to Malaysia Eugeniusz Sawicki, who liked Taiping and its history, arranged for the first concert recital by Leszek Mozdzer held there last year.

The concert by Florczyk is scheduled to take place at Flemington Hotel, starting 8pm.
