LUMUT: The Perak government is to revive the Lumut sea festival which was once a popular annual event in the state, according to Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
He said the event would turned into an annual programme in marking the declaration of Lumut as a navy town.
The festival, Zambry said, would be modified to be filled up with programmes more towards maritime activities including exhibitions, water sports and naval ships performance.
"It will be like the LIMA exhibition in Langkawi and will be more joyful. The Lumut Sea Festival is proposed to be held in June next year and will be included in the state's tourism calendar," he told reporters here after officiating the second anniversary celebration of Lumut being declared a navy town.
Zambry said the state government would also request the Tourism Ministry to include the event in the national tourism calendar.
