Expert confirms sex video is genuine

A foreign video expert has confirmed that the sex video of a man resembling Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is authentic.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the expert had corroborated the findings of local video analysts over its authenticity.

“We have confirmed with the foreign video expert that the sex video is authentic,” he said, adding that police had also identified the man and woman in the video.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Bukit Aman yesterday, Khalid said that police would only reveal the identities of the people engaged in the sex acts in the video if the law required it.

“We are in the final stages of our investigations and will be handing in the investigation papers to the Attorney-General's Chamber soon,” he said.

A report in The Star on April 2 quoted Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar as saying that local experts had confirmed that the video clip implicating the Opposition Leader had not been doctored.

The experts, he said, had handed over the full report on the video but did not elaborate.
