LUMUT, - More than 300 residents of different races today swarmed a clinic held in conjunction with the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir's " Meet The Customer Day " for the first time at the Umno Lumut Division building, here.
The special officer of the Pangkor State Assemblyman, Azri Jaafar said the programme was warmly received as Dr Zambry himself was on hand to receive visitors since 9am.
Dr Zambry had initiated the programme as the state government's approach in going down on the ground with the aim of identifying and resolving the people's problems.
Azri said in conjunction with the programme, 10 government departments and agencies also opened counters to listen and clear up problems raised.
Meanwhile, a resident , Wawi Kamaruddin, 58, from 9 Mile, Simpang 3, Changkat Jong in Lower Perak, said he was happy as he could get to meet the Menteri Besar to present the problem on his residential site which had been lingering for the past 20 years.
"I am grateful to God for being able to meet the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and his concern and pledge with regard to my problem and to help settle it.
"Even though the programme is for residents in Manjung, the Menteri Besar has graciously attended to me who is from Lower Perak," said Wawi, who is suffering from a stroke and had to be assisted to make the journey.
Another visitor, Ruppan @ Rethinan a/l Chellan from Kampung Deralik, Sitiawan also voiced his satisfaction after his meeting with the Menteri Besar.
According to him, the Menteri Besar had pledged to assist in resolving the issue on the grant for his house in which he has been living for 30 years.
