Lawyer, Human Rights specialist ( Zionism) William Bourdon was born in 1956. He is a French lawyer. He is specialized in the defence of human rights and of victims of crimes against humanity.
He was the General Secretary of the International Federation for Human Rights (1995-2000).
In 2000, he wrote the essay “The International Criminal court - the Statute of Rome” (Seuil).
In 2001, he created the 'Sherpa' a not-for-profit organisation which focuses on improving the legal tools that create a legal framework for the social responsibility of corporations.
In 2006, he appeared in his own role as a lawyer for African plaintiffs in the film 'Bamako' by Abderrahmane Sissako.
He has been very active in initiating legal procedures in France against former Serbian or Rwandan leaders suspected of crimes against humanity and crimes of war. He is the lawyer of Franco-Chilean families who were victims of the former dictator Augusto Pinochet. He also defends several French prisoners detained in Guantanamo.
William Bourdon describes itself as "a defender of human rights". He was Secretary General (1994-1995) and Secretary General of the International Federation of Human Rights from 1995 to 2000. In October 2001, he founded the Sherpa Association, whose purpose is to "defend the victims of crimes committed by traders," and he is currently the president. Sherpa is installed in the premises of France Libertés, William Bourdon is a member of the Board of Directors of France Libertés Danielle Mitterrand and lawyer for many years. William Bourdon is also the lawyer of Transparency International, the association's survival and the Federation of Congolese from the Diaspora (FCD). It's close associations with illegal aliens, including Cimade, for which he acted as an observer in 1992.
William Bourdon was illustrated in criminal cases in the 80 (defense of prostitutes in the Case Jobic2, a police officer accused of pimping before finally being acquitted), and has specialized in human rights Rights (SOS Racisme, Chinese opponents, the Rwandan genocide, Augusto Pinochet, defense Elena Alfaro and Family Dauthier, a French disappeared in the clandestine detention center of Argentina to El Vesubio 3., etc.). and also of protesters, supporters of the "social struggle" or activists of the ultra left. In 2006, he defended the SUD PTT union of Cyril Ferez, which he "has been a real beating, a beating for a time by a couple of important CRS" 4 at events against the law for equal opportunities. William Bourdon is also the initiator 20008, on behalf of the FIDH, the complaint and the indictment in Senegal for torture and crimes against humanity for Habré. In December 2008, after the failure of complaints made against Omar Bongo, Sassou-Nguesso and Teodoro Obiang Nguema, Sherpa and Transparency International filed a complaint against X on "the conditions under which a very important real estate and furniture was purchased in France "by the nine African heads of state.
In March 2007, William Bourdon called to vote for the candidate in the presidential elections Segolene Royal in a petition issued by the New Observateur10.
In April 2009, he participated in a campaign rally in the European elections of Europe Ecology Movement (List led by Daniel Cohn-Bendit) alongside Eva Joly11. It proclaims: "I want to be free to everyone, I want to go in any system. '12.
In 2010 and 2011, William Bourdon has been designated by several businessmen, exposed to the privatization of the judicial process in their countries of origin in order to defend their interests in various extradition proceedings initiated including the Russian Federation.

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Julai: Tindakan pentadbiran Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak menangkap peguam Perancis, William Bourdon (gambar) akan terus mencemarkan nama negara bahkan akan memburukkan lagi nama baik negara di mata dunia. AJK PAS Pusat, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad berkata, sepatutnya selepas pulang dari luar negara dan bertemu dengan Pope, Queen Elyzabeth dan Perdana Menteri Britain, Najib mempunyai pandangan lebih luas tetapi ternyata tidak. "Balik sahaja dari luar negara, Najib terus membuat perangai buruk apabila menangkap William Bourdon, peguam hak asasi manusia dari Perancis ini. Sudah tentu ini akan menyebabkan semua mata peringkat antarabangsa akan melihat kita lagi. "Sebelum ini majalah Economist di sensor, laporan tentang cara perhimpunan Bersih 2.0 dikendalikan belum selesai, ditambah pula dengan tindakan ini," kata Dr Dzulkefly kepada Harakahdaily. Beliau mengulas penangkapan peguam hak asasi manusia Perancis William Bourdon di KLIA tengahari tadi. Bourdon ditangkap oleh sekumpulan pegawai Imigresen yang naik ke atas kapal terbang itu sebaik sahaja kapal terbang mendarat William Bourdon, dijangka akan menghangatkan lagi politik Malaysia apabila beliau akan memberikan ucapan utama di tiga majlis anjuran Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) bermula malam tadi di Pulau Pinang. Bourdon, peguam Suaram bagi kes pembelian dua kapal selam Scorpene yang penuh kontroversi itu akan menceritakan perkembangan terkini kes itu malam ini di Dewan Sivik MPPJ. Bagi Dr Dzulkefly, arahan penangkapan ini tentu dari pihak atasan pentadbiran Najib bagi menyekat apa-apa maklumat yang hendak disampaikan beliau dalam majlis malam ini dan esok. "Mengapa Najib terus-terusan mencetus tindakan yang tunjukkan beliau hilang kawalan dan tertekan begini. "Sepatutnya lepas jumpa Queen, Pope dan Perdana Menteri Britain, wibawanya akan tinggi dan menunjukkan kepada dunia beliau masih menguasai pentadbiran Malaysia dengan baik. "Langkah ini akan mencetuskan pandangan umum yang burukkan pentadbiran beliau dan dia sendiri," kata Dr Dzulkefli (gambar) kepada Harakahdaily. Bagi beliau, tindakan menaham peguam Suaram ini seolah-olah membayangkan Najib mengesahkan tanggapan ada perkara yang nak dilindungi beliau dari diketahui rakyat dalam majlis di Dewan Sivik Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya (MPPJ) dan di Ipoh esok. Ia juga, katanya, mencetus minat rakyat dan media antarabangsa untuk isu Scorpean ini dan bakal menjadi fokus media antarabangsa dan rakyat selepas ini. "Najib meletakkan negara dalam mata antarabangsa dengan lebih buruk lagi. Ia akan menjejaskan negara sebagai destinasi pelaburan atas dakwaan rasuah hingga melibatkan orang no 1 negara," katanya. Beliau yang juga anggota Parlimen Kuala Selangor yakin, jika Najib tidak bertindak sebegini, majlis makan malam mengutip dana Suaram dan kedatangan Bourdon ini akan berlalu begitu sahaja. "Namun apabila warga asing ditangkap, peguam hak asasi manusia Mahkamah Perancis pula, ia satu tindakan desperate yang bakal memburukkan lagi keadaan," katanya. |
