Hi-Tea Ikrar Sokong BN

IPOH, 15 JANUARY, 2012: Almost 200 former members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and DAP today pledged their supports and readiness to help the Barisan Nasional (BN) to win the next general election.

The pledge, led by former Ipoh Barat PKR chief, Fauzi Muda, was made in the presence of Perak Umno Liaison Committee secretary Datuk Khusairi Talib who represented Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir. Amazed with the spirit showed by the former opposition members, Khusairi said he would convey the pledge to Zambry.

In his speech, Fauzi, said he was among the founders of Perak PKR in 1999 but had quit the party 10 years ago.

He said he made the decision as he saw many problems brewing up in opposition pact in the absence of a principal party to lead the way, besides the differing ideologies propagated by the coalition members.

The approach adopted by BN all this while had clearly been more effective with Umno being acknowledged by the coalition partners as the leading party in BN, he said.

In contrast, he said the opposition pact (DAP-PKR-PAS) had always been saddled with internal disputes. - Bernama
