INI PROJEK NIZAR , SEKARANG DIA PANDAI KOMPLEN PROJEK VALE YANG DIA JUGA TERLIBAT DAHULU
LUMUT: The first project approved by the Pakatan Rakyat-led state government, a fabrication plant in Lumut Port, is expected to create 800 jobs for skilled and semi-skilled workers, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jama-luddin.
The initial investment for the UMW Fabritech fabrication plant was RM100 million, with the first phase to be completed at the end of the year and the rest of the plant completed in four years, he said at the ground-breaking ceremony here yesterday.
He said the state government was trying to reduce bureaucracy for all project applications.
It also wants to give early approvals so that investors could quickly begin their projects, enabling the reaping of benefits sooner.
"In the case of the UMW Fabritech fabrication plant, I approved the application in less than 24 hours and all processes involving the Manjung district land office and other agencies were conducted within three weeks."
The plant will build oil platforms and related components.
Nizar expressed confidence that UMW's move to invest in Perak would encourage others to invest in the state's education, agriculture and tourism sectors.
