This is the RM1,000 parking summons issued by Majlis Perbandaran Selayang under the Pakatan Selangor Government.
Like most lower to middle class terrace-houses neighbourhoods in Malaysia, the biggest problem for the residents in this particular taman in Selangor is the lack of parking.
Each family has 3 or 4 cars - which forces them to park on both sides of the streets. And when that is not enough, they park on the field opposite their houses - just like they have done for 20 years.
However a few days ago, the local council officers came and slapped RM1,000 saman for wrongful parking to 30 cars.
That would be RM30,000 clean within mere minutes.
I wonder why the Selangor Govt parking samans are so expensive? RM1,000 each?
Naturally, the residents there are furious.
