KJ !!! AKAI ADA KAA?

Khairy defends Ka Siong

Wee and Khairy speak to reporters at the parliament lobby.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 23, 2010):
BARISAN Nasional (BN) Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin today defended MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong over his statement on Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships, described as “insolent” by Perkasa.

Khairy told reporters at the parliament lobby the issue is “ridiculous” because Wee’s statement did not have any racial sentiment.

Perkasa chief Datuk Ibrahim Ali had accused Wee, who is also the deputy education minister, of being “biadap” (insolent) in a report in Utusan Malaysia today.

Ibrahim said Wee had challenged the Malay rights, the social contract and the Federal Constitution when he questioned if Mara scholarships should be abolished together with the PSD scholarships.

He also said Wee was not qualified to be a deputy minister.

Last week, Wee had urged PSD to maintain the scholarships for studies overseas. He was also reported in an English language daily as saying “if the government is doing away with the PSD scholarships but retaining the Mara scholarships, this will not be in line with the 1Malaysia concept that the government is promoting”.

Today, Wee, who jointly held a press conference with Khairy, said his statement has been misconstrued by Ibrahim as he has never questioned the special position of the Malays.

“He has not fully understood my statement on why I am against phasing out the JPA (PSD) scholarship for overseas tertiary education. Never have I once questioned the special position of the Malays. Unfortunately, Ibrahim Ali has accused me of not understanding the social contract. He has taken my statement on the JPA scholarships out of context,” Wee said.

Khairy said he had personally heard a recording of Wee’s statement. He said Wee was not questioning the social contract.

“He gave an example that the JPA scholarship is the only opportunity for non-bumiputras to get a scholarship from the government. He asked how the bumiputras will feel if the Mara scholarships are revoked. It was just a question. Of course, the bumiputras will feel disappointed, so if the JPA scholarships are phased out, the non-bumiputras will also feel disappointed,” he said.

“I cannot understand what is wrong with that statement. This is ridiculous because this is not how we do politics.”

Asked if he or Wee will clear the statement with Ibrahim, Khairy said there is no need to do so and echoed Wee’s statement that Ibrahim is only seeking publicity.

“This will never end. This is his politics. Perkasa is defending the rights of the Malays but the way they do it is not helping BN,” Khairy said.

At an earlier press conference, Ibrahim maintained that Wee had questioned the Malay rights and refuted claims that he is looking for cheap publicity.

“If I wanted publicity, I can talk about bigger things. I can criticise higher leaders but I merely questioned his motive and now that he has been caught with his statement, he wants to deny it and say I am looking for publicity,” Ibrahim said. -- theSun

Komen TM;

Walaupun emak bapa mereka kaya tetapi tetap memohon bantuan PTPTN.

Haprak punya budak-budak.

Yang rugi anak melayu juga, sibuk demontrasi sana sini minta diturunkan yuran pengajian, tetapi bab belajar tak pernah dapat kelas pertama, kalau kelas kedua pun tahap bawah sahaja...

Berbalik kepada KJ.....Apo nakkk jadi......tak faham bahasoo kah ekau jangg.
