SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Kuang assemblyman Abdul Shukor Idrus today questioned the Selangor government over its approval of a medical claim amounting to RM300,000 from another assemblyman who was the victim of a road accident.
He said the claim from Dr Cheah Wing Ying (DAP-Damansara Utama) who was involved in an accidengt in March, was far too high and had never been extended to any Selangor assemblyman prior to this.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the state assembly sitting here today, Abdul Shukor (BN-Kuang) also asked whether similar medical coverage would be extended to other Selangor assemblyman if they were in the same predicament.
He further questioned the need for such coverage at private hospitals when assemblyman were enititled to first class treatment at government hospitals
In the incident at the Batu Tiga toll plaza here, Dr Cheah, who was in aa four-wheel drive vehicle, fractured both legs and a finger.
