The Perak DAP has "overlooked" its own Malay leaders by swinging its support behind a Pas candidate, an MCA leader said Thursday.
MCA Youth deputy chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said Perak DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and the party's state secretary Nga Kor Ming would do anything to secure their positions in the party.
"The Perak DAP has adopted an attitude of capitulation, as they have already surrendered the post of menteri besar to PAS candidate Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.
"This is a senseless act as it shows that the position of Malay leaders in the DAP is just window-dressing," he said in a statement here Thursday.
Last Tuesday, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party's central executive committee meeting had agreed to endorse Perak DAP's stand to support the re-appointment of Mohammad Nizar as menteri besar.
