State working with budget airline to promote tourism

FIREFLY should consider flying between Ipoh and KLIA, and KLIA to Pangkor Island, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

He said the airline should consider the suggestion to help the state government promote tourism.

"Firefly has a positive respond on the request," he added.

At present, Firefly flies twice daily from Ipoh to Singapore and vice-versa.

The airline also flies out of KLIA to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Sandakan and Sibu daily.

Dr Zambry said the state was also working with Firefly to come up with a tourism logo as part of the state's branding exercise.

"The logo, in its final stage of being finalised, would be used to promote Perak.

"Like Tourism Malaysia's 'Malaysia Truly Asia' slogan, Perak will also have its own slogan," he added.
