Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar declining to make comments when visiting the alleged murder site of Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others at Ladang Gadong, Banting, yesterday.

The Datuk lawyer implicated in the murders of Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others is said to have personal wealth of more than RM200 million.

This was disclosed by a former business associate who alleged that the Datuk and his younger brother, also a lawyer, owned properties and had bank accounts in several countries. They gained most of their wealth from land transactions, mainly in Selangor and Penang, the associate said.

Bukit Aman's Anti-Money Laundering Division is also said to be investigating allegations of money laundering committed by the lawyer in Hong Kong.

The authorities froze most of their assets pending investigations.

The brothers were believed to have invested in land and properties in India and owned a transport company in Bangladesh with about 50 buses.

The associate claimed the brothers had properties worth about RM90 million in the Kuala Langat district.

"The lawyers has about 10 houses, of which at least four are in Banting and one in Puchong."

The associate said the lawyer lived in one of the houses in Banting and rented out the rest of them.

The brothers also own several shophouses and a clinic.

It was also learnt that they owned 15 luxury cars. It was believed that police seized nine of the cars and were looking for the other six.

The associate, however, alleged that many of their properties were believed to be registered under the names of relatives and cronies.

It was learnt that the lawyers were also involved in the money-lending business and usually demanded the borrowers' properties be placed as collateral.

They would place a caveat on the properties and if the borrowers defaulted on their repayment, the properties were sold off through banks.
