He said the information was obtained from unofficial sources and the ministry had never certified such information.
"The ministry is monitoring the situation. So far, nothing has been found, no military intelligence document was leaked.
"We often update our top secret and confidential information and we constantly monitor them to prevent leakage," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here today, in response to the WikiLeaks exposure.
Meanwhile, Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) president Datuk Ibrahim Ali today challenged Anwar to sue WikiLeaks if its allegations were false and defamatory.
He said this was because Anwar's well-known attitude on suing people indicated that it had become a compulsory 'work" for him.
Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the exposure had become a clear indication of the nature of the former deputy prime minister.
"WikiLeaks' exposure, especially on Datuk Seri Anwar, is very serious because it was based on intelligence information obtained by foreigners.
"We do not know how the information is obtained, but since the information is used in communication between foreign countries, it seems valid. If it's not, Singapore and Australia would never have discussed it," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said he was awaiting clarification from Singapore on the exposure because if proven true, it would have a particular impact on people's perception of those involved.
Citing the disclosure as very interesting, Mukhriz, who is also Jerlun member of parliament, said: "We did not know that these kinds of things were discussed at the international level, in particular, between Singapore and Australia, but we also want to know the validity of the information."
PKR vice-president Tian Chua, when asked to comment on the matter, said: "PKR will send a letter to the Singapore high commissioner on the allegations against Anwar... the letter will be completed today and if possible, we will send it later today." — Bernama
