All eyes on oath of loyalty ceremony at palace

PETALING JAYA: All attention will be on Istana Bukit Kayangan today as the new Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi takes his oath of loyalty before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

The big question is: Will Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and his exco members attend the ceremony, or will they hold fast to their threat to boycott the event?

Many are also anticipating the Sultan to extensively touch on the issue in his royal address at the event besides reiterating that he is above politics.

Other developments:

" The state exco has decided not to invite Khusrin to take his oath of secrecy, thus rendering him unable to take part in exco meetings;

"Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan said the Federal Government was not involved in Khusrin's appointment;

"Hundreds of people protested in front of the state government building in Shah Alam, calling for Khalid to resign for betraying the Sultan.
